A.C.T. Mission Statement
Inspiring, Developing and Networking Ministry gifts to establish measurable change, through Christ, in our Community
General Relational Guidelines.
- Speak well of other ministers and ministries
- Look for opportunities to build and strengthen bonds to other ministers and ministries
- Look for opportunities to bless and encourage other ministers and ministries.
- Let your motivation for relationship be “What can I do to be a blessing to them?” Not… “What can this relationship do for me?”
Multi-church function protocols
Do:
- Announcements for an event should be sent to pastors and leaders and designed to be all inclusive, reflecting the work of the group not an individual minister or ministries agenda. It needs to be descriptive enough to help ministers decide if it will work for them and their people.
- A leadership team should agree upon the purpose and parameters of the meeting, seminar or program offered and no changes made to the plans till it is discussed with the entire designated leadership team.
- The ACT ministry team and guest ministers should be onsite one half hour before the event is to begin for a time of prayer and sharing.
- The hosting ministry leader should open meeting (unless otherwise agreed beforehand) to welcome and recognize the ministries and ministers involved and present. This is also an opportunity to release invited authority for function to other leaders.
- Ask different leaders to take part in service duties, so that it models a picture of unity and equality to those attending. These duties should be defined well beforehand as to leave no opportunity for confusion or offense.
- Thanking the hosting minister and ministry as well as those who have served in the event for their help. This can be done at any time during the event.
- Any personal ministry should be handled by ministers or by those trained and designated for this purpose. Badges would be helpful.
- The order of the meeting can at anytime be adjusted by God to fulfill His plans and purpose.
Don’t:
- Advertise your churches personal functions either from the pulpit or personally one on one to members of a church other than your own.
- If a member of another church wants to communicate with and develop a deeper level of relationship, they should be instructed to talk to their pastor for approval before giving them your contact information.
- No changes in the ministry schedule or announcements should be made without communication with the core event team being notified for input.
- The event should not be viewed by pastors or their people as an opportunity to invited members of other fellowships into their personal church programs and events.
